The Children9s Chorale is a community of singers comprised of Cleveland/Bradley County area youth ranging from 3rd grade through 8th grade.  The 2001-2002 concert season marks the sixth year that the Children9s Chorale has been a part of the Lee University School of Music. The Chorale was established to foster vocal development and artistic growth through the rehearsal and performance of repertoire based on standard choral literature, cultural diversity, and our American heritage. The Chorale places a strong emphasis on healthy, age appropriate vocal production, music reading skills and performance.  All activities reflect a commitment to the continual vocal development and expanding musicianship of the singers.

The Children9s Chorale has experienced significant growth in student enrollment and participation with more than seventy-five children auditioning and being selected to be a part of the singing group.  The organization is comprised of two separate choirs.  The first choir includes grades 3rd through 5th and maintains an average membership of fifty (50) children. Approximately twenty-five (25) 6th through 8th grade youth comprise the smaller, middle school age ensemble.

Since its establishment in 196, The Lee University Children9s Chorale has had the opportunity to perform with Christian artists Babbie Mason and Twila Paris.  This past March, the Chorale performed 9śThe Story-Tellin Man9ť by Ken Medema, a musical based upon the parables of Jesus. Composer and performer, Ken Medema was present to accompany the performance.  After the children9s presentation, Mr. Medema entertained the audience with a concert.  Regularly scheduled performances of The Children9s Chorale include the tradition holiday celebration9”Lee University Classic Christmas, and a separate Christmas and Spring Concert program.
