About Me

Background:

Born in 1972, Chad Prevost is a writer, teacher and editor who lives in North Chattanooga, Tennessee and teaches creative writing and rhetoric at Lee University.  He has also taught at Georgia State University and Georgia Perimeter College, and holds advanced degrees from Baylor University and Georgia State University.  His poetry, non-fiction, interviews and reviews have been published in places such as Rosebud, Puerto del Sol, Mid-American Review, The Connecticut Review, Hiram Poetry Review, South Dakota Review, Seattle Review, Confluence, Arkansas Review, Cimarron Review, Louisiana Literature, RE:AL, and The Southeast Review.  Having served in various editorial capacities on The Chattahoochee Review, Five Points, and GSU Review, Chad is Co-Founding Editor of Terminus: A Magazine of the Arts based in Atlanta, Georgia.

Chad is currently at work on a memoir and a second collection of poems. 

Schedule of Forthcoming Events:

Chad will read new poems and poems from Snapshots of the Perishing World at the Lee Review promo event and open mic night at Lee University's The House at 7:00 on Tuesday, Oct. 2.  Books will be available for signing. 

Chad will read from Snapshots of the Perishing World at The Meacham Writer’s Workshop Conference on the UTC campus on Saturday, October 7 at 1:00 in the UC Raccoon Mountain Room.  For more about who's reading at the conference: http://www.chattanoogastate.edu/Meacham/schedule.htm

He’ll give a talk and read from his book at Georgia Military College at 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 2.  For more information contact James Iredell at: iredell@hotmail.com

Chad will read his own poems and discussing Evensong with Angie Estes and Larry Smith on Sunday November 5th at Unitarians & Coffeehouse, and on Monday November 6 at 12:30 at Firelands College.  The evening of November 6th he’ll be reading in Columbus at 7:00.  This will be followed by a reading at Larry's Poetry Forum at 2040 N. High St, Columbus, OH at 7 pm.

Chad will be a panelist at the November meeting of the Chattanooga Writers Guild on publishing your work.  Each of the panelists will give a brief reading from their respective genres, discuss their work and talk about how they got it published.  The meeting is November 14 at 7:00 PM at the Downtown Branch of the Chattanooga - Hamilton County Bicentennial Library.  For more information check out CWG's website at: www.chattanoogawritersguild.org

Chad is also one of the reader’s for this fall’s Lee University 2006-2007 Writer’s Series.  He’ll be reading in the Johnson Lecture Hall on Thursday, November 16 at 7:00.
