Daniel Hoffman has been a member of the Lee University faculty since 1994. He often teaches Western Civilization, Ancient History, Rome and the Early Church, Renaissance and Reformation, Medieval History, and sometimes other upper-level history courses in the Behavioral and Social Sciences Department. He has also taught an Augustine course and one on the History of the Bible in the Master of Liberal Arts program. He is an avid researcher, and his scholarly works have appeared in several historical and theological publications. Hoffman has been listed in Who's Who Among University Teachers (1996-99), and received the Appalachian College Association Mellon Fellowship in 1997 and the ACA Stephenson Fellowship in 1996. Hoffman was previously the Social Studies and Bible Department Chair at Charlotte Christian School (1986-94).

Hoffman is married to Linda W. Hoffman, now a full-time student at Lee University in Business, and formerly a bookkeeper for various CPA's in Charlotte. Daniel was born in Hamilton, Ohio, but grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is a sponsor of the College Republicans and co-sponsor of History Club at Lee. He enjoys coin collecting, reading, travel, and historical simulation computer games. He and Linda surpervised the Semester In Europe, Cambridge study program in the spring of 1999.
