Church Music at Lee University
Lee University has a strong and rich history in
church music that includes training future ministers of music and
worship leaders, and ministering through various music ensembles
that travel throughout the U.S. and other countries. Here are
what some of our graduates are doing in local churches:
Sharon Ballinger,
Mark
Blankenship,
Clay Davis,
Arvil
Ogle (check out his
blog), and
Todd Sturgell.
Lee currently offers two degrees in church music:
a Bachelor of Arts (with Church Music emphasis) and a new Bachelor
of Music in Church Music (BMCM). The B.A. degree offers a
well-rounded Bachelor of Arts education with an emphasis in music
and church music. The B.M.C.M. degree provides more in-depth
training in the areas of music and church music. The degree is
intended for students who want to pursue full-time music ministry in
a local church.

A significant part of the church and
worship music tradition at Lee University are the traveling
ensembles that minister throughout the U.S. and overseas.
Information on each ensemble, as well as audition information, is
available on their websites: Campus
