Our Mission

The purpose of the Department of Instructional Technology (DoIt) at Lee University is to encourage proper use of various technologies. Some of these may entail online systems / environments, software tools, and strategies that can enhance human learning and competence. To these ends, the Department endeavors to:

Prepare educational practitioners and leaders to use theories of learning, communication, behavior, and fitting Instructional Designs in conjunction with technologies to contribute to Lee University students' experiences.
Understand diverse approaches for developing, representing, managing, and disseminating knowledge.
Appraise emerging technologies and experiment with promising innovations that may lead to significant improvements in the teaching and learning experience.
Serve as a model for appropriate and innovative ways to use technology to support cost-effective, high quality educational activities and programs.
