INFLUENCES

William Joseph Seymour (1870-1922) was pastor of the Apostolic Faith Mission at 312 Azusa Street in Los Angeles during the Azusa Street Revival of 1906-1909.  He was converted in the Methodist Episcopal Church in Indianapolis and convinced of speaking in other tongues as the Bible evidence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit after sitting under Charles Fox Parham in Houston, Texas, in 1905.
