Church of God Black History Educational Resources Available

A Church of God Black history PowerPoint presentation on CD is now available from the Dixon Pentecostal Research Center.  The theme of the presentation is "Honoring People of Vision & Courage: Church of God Black History Exhibit." It highlights the influences, early history, national leadership, and women’s ministries of the "Church of God Colored Work."

The "Church of God Colored Worked" was formed in 1922 because of the growing constituency among blacks in several states.  Their ministries included annual assemblies, an orphanage and school, a system of financial support, and state overseers.  The "Colored Work" eventually integrated with the general church in 1966.

The PowerPoint CDs are $10 which includes shipping and handling.

Also available are a postcard of a 1924 baptism in Eustis, Florida, and the Church of God History and Heritage Winter/Spring 2003 Issue about the "Church of God Colored Work."  Detailed information about these resources is available at the Research Center website:  http://www.cogheritage.org/black_ministries_promo

The Dixon Pentecostal Research Center collects, preserves and makes available for research Church of God, Pentecostal and Charismatic documents, records and other media.  As the official archives of the Church of God, the Research Center advances the knowledge and use of the movement’s history and heritage through research, teaching, publications and exhibitions.
