I received your Heritage Calendar today and to my surprise I found the picture of my great-grandmother Sarah “Sallie” Ann Hamby. Born 1859 in Union Co. Georgia, and died in Zion, Illinois, April 13, 1941.

Church of God Black History Photographs Donated

J.T. Roberts Jr. and Eloise Peoples, the son and daughter of J.T. Roberts, recently donated several photograph albums of the Church of God’s black history to the Dixon Pentecostal Research Center.  The albums had been compiled by J.T. Roberts.

J.T. Roberts served as the eighth overseer of the "Church of God Colored Work" from 1958 to 1965.  Prior to coming into this position, he had served the Church of God as a national evangelist.  Under his administration the "Colored Work" saw numerous buildings built, an increase in membership and other visible signs of progress.
