Lee University offers courses in German at the introductory, elementary, intermediate, and third-year levels providing students with a wide array of curricular opportunities to grow in both language acquisition and knowledge of the German language and culture. A minor in German is now in place with a focus on literature, film, and cultural aspects of contemporary German society. Future plans for the German minor include adding a theology and business track for students majoring in those subjects.
A study abroad option is also available for students who wish to take intermediate German (GERM 211-212) in Munich as part of a language-intensive Global Perspectives trip offered every other year. Additionally, a major in German is in the planning stages (soon to be announced) in conjunction with a semester abroad program at the Philipps Universität in Marburg, Germany.
