The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18
Even when we feel discouraged and overwhelmed – “crushed in spirit” – God loves us tenderly and is present with us in our pain.

This is a gentle reminder that God loves us tenderly. He does not expect perfection or condemn us for feeling anxious, but knows our hearts and lovingly calls us to lay our anxieties at his feet.

We may feel guilt and shame because of our mistakes and sins, but we worship a God who separates us from our sins as far as the east is from the west. There is NO condemnation for us when we are in Christ! There is nothing you can do to separate you from the love of Christ.

God calls us to come as we are – as we really are – before him. We need not hide our fears and feelings, but the Lord tells us to pour out our hearts like water before him, to cry out in the night to him.

Life exhausts and overwhelms us. When we feel like we can’t handle another crisis, another painful circumstance, we can cling to these words of Jesus, as he lovingly invites us to rest in him.

God has not called us to make our journeys alone, but to journey in community with others. We grow in and through relationships with God and others. So seek others out to confess to, to be held accountable to, to pray with and for, to do life together.
