Kevin S. Trowbridge joined the Lee University faculty in the fall of 2005 as an instructor in public relations and faculty adviser to the Lee Clarion, the student newspaper, and Vindagua, the university yearbook. He is also a faculty co-adviser to the Lee University Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA).

Prior to coming to Lee, Trowbridge was a doctoral fellow at Regent University, Virginia Beach, Va., where he is currently a candidate for the Doctor of Philosophy degree in communication. He earned the Bachelor of Arts in communication arts with a public relations emphasis from Union University, Jackson, Tenn., and a Master of Arts in communication from The University of Memphis (Tenn.).

Before beginning full-time doctoral studies in 2003, Trowbridge served as vice president for communications at the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU), an international higher education association headquartered in Washington, D.C., where he was also a member of the National Capital Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). Other prior professional experiences include public relations, marketing, and corporate communications positions in higher education, healthcare and banking/finance. In addition to his experiences as a public relations professional, Trowbridge has taught a host of communication courses in numerous adjunct capacities since 1998.

Professionally, Trowbridge is a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC), the Tennessee Communication Association (TCA), the American Communication Association (ACA), and the College Media Advisers (CMA). He is also a member of the Cleveland Media Association (CMA) and serves as vice president of the Lookout Chapter of PRSA. He has also been actively involved with other professional organizations including the International Communication Association (ICA), National Communication Association (NCA), and the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).

In addition to his institutional and professional involvements, Trowbridge maintains a research agenda with interests in social media, new technology, communication pedagogy, interpersonal, organizational, communication theory and applied communication research methods.

Originally from Horse Cave, Ky., Trowbridge and his wife, Robyn, reside in Cleveland, Tenn., with an 8-year-old foster daughter, Paige, and their three furry felines—Tiger, Frosty and Peanut.
