I am confused. I was wondering about a particular part of this article. It says that this reaction created a racemic mixture of amino acids, and yet only one isomer of each amino acid can be incorporated into the cell. According to the 2nd law of thermodynamics everything is going to a more disordered state, so from an evolutionary stand point, how is it possible for only L-isomers of a racemic mixture of amino acids come together in the right order and still not violate the 2nd law of thermodynamics?
