International Women's Issues
"If one human is in bondage, than all humans are in
bondage" is a proverb that is being whispered across borders,
mountains, oceans, and backyard fences. The wisdom is spreading,
unfortunately much faster than the action. From mutilation to female
infanticide, our sisters around the world must be listened to, and
our brothers around the world must be shown merciful and loving
resistance. But in order for our voices to strongly join their
voices in a cry to end the domination (for both the dominated and
the dominators), we must first be educated. Through the women's
center library, forums, research, and action, the Department for
Studies of International Women will do more than seek, along with
the students of Lee University, knowledge pertaining to the
domination of women of other nations. This department will inquire
and educate on the theology, philosophy, economics, politics,
everyday life, etc of Native American, Asian, European, Australian,
Aboriginal, Hispanic, African, and Arabic women. If you would be
interested in organizing or researching on these topics, use the
contact information to let us know.
