History
The Women's Center project has developed over the past few years,
as a cooperative effort among female faculty and students. Initially
the project was begun as a partnership with Sewanee, the University
of the South, to explore women's leadership. In Spring 2002, Sewanee
professors and students came to Lee to explore women's issues; and
the following semester, Fall 2002, a few Lee faculty and students
traveled to Sewanee for a follow-up seminar. In November 2002, Lee
hosted a two day conference called "Women's Ways of
Leading," and in the spring of 2003 the project was granted the
funds to develop a Lee University Women's Center.
